Ex-RISEAP Student Conducts Da’wah Work in Vietnam

Br Ap Dol Romal @ Ust Hj Abdul Rahman Ibrahim, 34, is an active da’wah worker in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam since he returned to his country after attending a 2-month Young Imam Course in Malaysia in 2003. He is from Kampong Jamiul Aman, An Giang Province and is a religious teacher at Masjid Jamiul Anwar in Ho Chi Minh City. There are about 200 students aged between 15-23 years old studying at the masjid. They are from 20 different villages in the area. Br Abdul Rahman and five other friends conduct the classes which include Qur’an reading and tafsir, Arabic language and Tauhid.

jemaah-friday-solat.jpg Br Abdul Rahman, among others, is instrumental in promoting Islamic education for local Muslim students. He has sent muazin-and-khatib-at-anwar-mosque.jpg several Vietnamese students to continue their studies in Malaysia. Since the past two years, thirteen students were sent to continue their Islamic studies at Pondok Darussalam, in Kuala Ibai, Terengganu, Malaysia. Three were female. He also plans to send more students to further their studies at Madrasah Qur’an, Kubang Bujuk, Terengganu. One of them will be trained as a hafiz.

Malaysian oil company, PETRONAS, is very kind in providing financial assistance to the needy students in Vietnam. RISEAP is thankful to PETRONAS. RISEAP salutes and acknowledges the exemplary da’wah work of Br Abdul Rahman. The Ustaz is married with two children.

Officials from Japan Muslim Association Visited RISEAP

KUALA LUMPUR (08 May 2009)

Professor Tayeb Hideomi Muto and Dr Yahya T. Endo of Japan Muslim Association (JMA) visited RISEAP Secretariat today.  They were welcomed by  YBhg Tuan Haji Marzuki Omar, RISEAP Hon. Secretary General.

During the visit, the JMA representives conveyed   their condolences  to YAB RISEAP President over the demise of  YAB  President’s beloved wife, Allahyarhamah Datuk Amar Puan Sri Dr Hjh Laila Taib.

During the brief visit, JMA  had invited RISEAP to send a representative to their coming Islamic Camp, which would take place  from 23 May 2009 till 24 May 2009 at Kanonzaki Campsite in Tokyo.  YBhg Tuan Haji Marzuki expressed his thanks and gratitude on the invitation by JMA.

Professor Tayeb and Dr Yahya were in Kuala Lumpur, attending the Supreme Council Meeting of World Halal Council.  Prof Tayeb Muto is the Vice President of the Council. (Note : Prof Tayeb Muto is the elected Executive Committee Member of RISEAP since 2004)

During the discussion, YBhg Tuan Haji Marzuki  proposed that the World Halal Council invite RISEAP  as an Observer  to their Conferences  in the near future on its capacity as a regional Islamic body, which represents over 56 Islamic Organizations in the Asia and Pacific regions.
