Ex-RISEAP Student Conducts Da’wah Work in Vietnam
Br Ap Dol Romal @ Ust Hj Abdul Rahman Ibrahim, 34, is an active da’wah worker in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam since he returned to his country after attending a 2-month Young Imam Course in Malaysia in 2003. He is from Kampong Jamiul Aman, An Giang Province and is a religious teacher at Masjid Jamiul Anwar in Ho Chi Minh City. There are about 200 students aged between 15-23 years old studying at the masjid. They are from 20 different villages in the area. Br Abdul Rahman and five other friends conduct the classes which include Qur’an reading and tafsir, Arabic language and Tauhid.
Br Abdul Rahman, among others, is instrumental in promoting Islamic education for local Muslim students. He has sent
several Vietnamese students to continue their studies in Malaysia. Since the past two years, thirteen students were sent to continue their Islamic studies at Pondok Darussalam, in Kuala Ibai, Terengganu, Malaysia. Three were female. He also plans to send more students to further their studies at Madrasah Qur’an, Kubang Bujuk, Terengganu. One of them will be trained as a hafiz.
Malaysian oil company, PETRONAS, is very kind in providing financial assistance to the needy students in Vietnam. RISEAP is thankful to PETRONAS. RISEAP salutes and acknowledges the exemplary da’wah work of Br Abdul Rahman. The Ustaz is married with two children.
